Stove Top Potpourri

The Thanksgiving weekend flew by! It was packed full of family, food and festivities. Now, I’m beat! I took Sunday as a day to relax and put the house back together. While I was cleaning, I decided to make a stove top simmer to add a holiday scent to the house.

The great thing about potpourri is that it uses everyday items and when you incorporate them together, you get a delightful smell. If you have company coming over, throw one on the stove and your guests are greeted with the wonderful smells of cinnamon and citrus. Your house smells inviting and fresh.

Stove Top Potpourri:

  • Orange, sliced
  • Handful of fresh cranberries
  • 2-3 Bay leaves
  • Cinnamon stick
  • Whole cloves (4-5)

  1. Add orange slices, cranberries and spices to a small pot. Add two cups of water and bring to a simmer.
  2. Refill water as needed.

You can package the ingredients in cellophane bags and bring as hostess gifts during the holiday season. They also, make cute teacher gifts or can be added to Christmas gift baskets for family or neighbors. They are simple to put together and look really pretty.

I hope you had a lovely Thanksgiving. I’m ready to dig into everything Christmas!!

Thanks for reading! xo
