Sweet & Salty Snack Mix

The other week I was grocery shopping and came across a snack mix made by Cheez-It crackers. It was a sweet and salty combination of snack foods and my son and I reduced it to nothing with a quickness. It wasn’t a very big box and it was almost $3.00, so I started thinking it would be more cost effective to make a big batch myself.

This snack mix comes together in no time and would be great served during a play date or even as an easy nibble, when you have a girls night in. The sweet kettle corn and the salty crackers make a winning combo that I can’t get enough of.

Sweet & Salty Snack Mix (adapted from Cheez-It’s)

  • 2 cups Cheez-It crackers
  • 2 cups rice Chex cereal
  • 2 cups caramel corn
  • 2 cups pretzels
  • 1 cup m&m’s candies (I opted for the Spring pastel ones due to the season)

1. Add all ingredients to a large bowl and mix well. (The m&m’s have a tendency to sink to the bottom, so maybe add right before serving.)

*Serve right away or put in a ziplock bag to store.

This is hardly a recipe and more of a mashup of yummy bites. I am planning on serving this to my kids as an easy after school snack. We hope you enjoy it as much as we do.

If you decide to serve this at a party or movie night, pick up some cute little bags and allow guests to fill them and have a portable nosh.

Thanks for reading! xo
