DIY Sugar Scrub

Today I’m back with another at home DIY spa product; sugar scrub.  With warmer weather approaching it’s a great time to think about exfoliating your skin. You may already have these ingredients in your house and can skip the high price tag on scrubs at the store.

Essential oils allow you to customize the scent you want your scrub to have. I chose a blend of Lavender and peppermint. Lavender is soothing and relaxing,  it’s perfect for winding down after a long day. Peppermint oil awakens the senses and will give you the boost you need. Did you know it can also inspire a sense of peace? I recently went to a Young Living workshop and have been getting more interested in more natural self care remedies.

I think any citrusy oil would work fantastic too, since they are extremely refreshing. Use what you have and it’s sure to work just fine.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup sugar (I did 1/2 white and the other 1/2 brown)
  • 1/4 cup liquid coconut oil
  • 5-10 drops essential oil of your choice

*You may easily double the recipe and may determine another splash of coconut oil is needed to get to the desired consistency.

Directions:

1. Add sugar to a bowl.

2. Pour coconut oil into bowl and stir.

3. Add drops of essential oil and stir again. *If needed add a splash of extra coconut oil.

See how easy?? Now package it up in a mason jar for easy storing or gifting. Your skin will thank you for the pampering and you will smell delightful.
